Although Santoshi Mata is mainly worshipped by women of Northern India, temples in her honour can be found spread across the entire country. Directed by Yash Raj Sinha, the pilot episode of Santoshi Maa - Sunayein Vrat Kathayein premiered in January of 2020. Veteran actress Gracy Singh, best known for her roles in blockbuster movies like “Lagaan” and “Munnabhai MBBS” plays the astral role of Santoshi Maa herself.
The main character set includes Swati (played by Tanvi Dogra) and her husband (played by Ashish Kadian) and Gracy Singh as Santoshi Maa. In other Godly roles, Goddess Parvati is played by Preetika Chauhan. Dinesh Mehta who is best known for his negative roles on television takes a break to play the character of Lord Shiva. The omnipresent “Narad” of the godly courts is portrayed by Vijay Badlani. Jaya Ojha and Prithvi Sankhala can be seen in the mortal roles of Swati’s mother and father respectively. The story portrays the power of unfaltering faith and dedication and its triumph over greed or malice.
